Dictionary widgets

In this blog page, the Internet demonstrates once more to be a great provider of tools. As any EFL student, there are moments in which we need to look up a word in a dictionary. It can be a monolingual, a thesaurus or a specialised one, but any dictionary is always useful. Here you are some widgets that link to some of the most recognised on-line dictionaries.

You can also take a look at the dictionary widgets em embed on the right side of the blog (The Oxford English dictionary, the Cambridge dictionary and the dictonary.com mini widget)

By the way, I want to recommend the following links which will guide you to other on-line dictionaries:

The free dictionary - Similar to dictionary.com, in this WebPage you can find not only a monolingual dictionary but also a thesaurus, a medical, a legal, and a financial dictionary. This Website also displays acronyms and idioms and counts on resources such as an encyclopaedia, a Wikipedia encyclopaedia, the Free Library and dictionaries of other languages like Spanish, German, French, Italian, etc.

Enchanted learning - In this WebPage, you can find different dictionaries which contains a lot of entries with definitions. The best thing is that most of the entries are not only accompanied of definition but also with pictures or activities that help the learners to supplement their knowledge about those words.
